Paris - Guadeloupe
01 — The artist
A Guadeloupean drummer and percussionist based in Paris, Kristof Négrit experiences music as a lifelong companion. Born into a family of musicians and immersed from an early age in gwo ka and konpa, he made the drums his first language at the age of six.
A graduate of FNEIJMA in 2010 and Gold Medal recipient from the Tourcoing Jazz Conservatory in 2014, he has established himself as a versatile sideman on Caribbean and jazz stages, including Brussels Jazz, Biguine Jazz de Martinique and Terre de Blues in Marie-Galante.
His collaborations with Yann Négrit, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Tony Chasseur, Célia Wa and Gabriel Saglio have shaped a distinctive rhythmic voice at the crossroads of heritage and modernity.

Release · March 13, 2026
«This project is my way of putting notes to what I feel, turning my experiences into music.»
Kristof Négrit’s debut album, État d’âme, is a musical journal in which each track conveys an emotion: nostalgia, inspiration and joy. Rooted in Caribbean jazz, it explores a broad sonic palette—jazz, afrobeat, gwo ka and zouk—to create a personal, authentic and timeless musical language.
Conceived as an immersive experience, the album builds a bridge between Guadeloupe and Africa, between tradition and modernity. A work made for the stage, from intimate clubs to major festivals.
